Everything Is Meaningless

Yesterday I met a billionaire. As much as I thought that this encounter would be something amazing, I left his residence with a sobering thought:
‘He is just as flawed and sinful a man as me with the only exception being his net worth.’
Afterward, I pondered what it would be like to be that rich. “Man O’ Man”, people serving me day and night! All of the best foods, cars, and the biggest houses that money can buy (whew). Money can buy me anything and everything. Food!!!!!! Boy, I love food. Steak, lobster, Arroz con Gandules, and my personal favorite JIBARITOS. I can have a chef at my beckoning call twenty-four hours a day (preferably Puerto Rican cuisine). Wowwww. Money can buy me clothes. So long Stitch Fix and Kohl’s and hello Armani suits and Italian designer shoes. I love to work out. I can have a state of the art gym with a trainer that would make me look more jacked than Dwayne da Rock Johnson💪. How bout the pleasures of the flesh? Heck if I’m a billionaire, Super Modelesque women would pursue me all day long (At least I think). Aww, man forgot to mention cars. Yeah, I’m Puerto Rican and love the sleek, fancy, and fast sports cars. After 30 minutes of daydreaming this delusion, I questioned several things:

  1. Does this billionaire know the love of Christ?
  2. Am I experiencing all that my Lord and Savior intended for me as promised in the Bible? Why not?
  3. Would I rather live my life passionately for Jesus Christ and be poor, or be a billionaire with a lukewarm surface skimming relationship with God?

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t know the heart of the rich man that I met as only God does. Yet he (rich dude) appeared to be a very generous and humble man, which are characteristics of Christ. At the conclusion of this meditative state, an epiphany of reality exploded within my consciousness. All of the money in the world cannot fulfill the void within my spirit. That longing, thirst, and hunger for God can only be satisfied by the power of Christ. Oh, the joy! The euphoria! The elation! The almighty power of God!!!!!!!!!!!

I was created to glorify God……..

Don’t waste your time trying to get rich. Don’t waste your time trying to charm the best looking man or woman. Don’t waste your time trying to achieve beauty or fame. Don’t waste your time chasing after worldly pleasures. Rather seek the Lord our God with all of your strength, vigor, heart, and mind. Upon doing so, you will find true meaning and experience the joy of a God-inspired life.

Everything is meaningless.
